About ACME
Acme has been honing its skill set over more than three decades with one sole focus in mind: improving workplace conditions in terms of safety, comfort and productivity. What started in 1994 as a single manufacturing unit at Gwalior has now turned into a specialized footwear manufacturer for industrial applications across India and internationally.
Acme is one of the leading safety shoe brands manufactured in India, boasting of an annual production capability of 40 lakhs pairs along with over 5 lakh sq. ft. of manufacturing capacity. Acme’s manufacturing units span across locations in Gwalior, Banmore and Kanpur. The manufacturing processes include activities such as raw material procurement, upper production, injection molding, quality inspection, testing, finishing and packaging.
Every workplace comes with different hazards and safety requirements whether it is construction or factory operators everyone needs different protection. That’s why Acme manufactures safety shoes designed to meet specific workplace needs.
32+ Years of Experience
Established in 1994, the initial motive behind the creation of Acme was the manufacture of protective footwear that would suit the growing Indian industry workforce.
From one factory established in Gwalior with an average daily output of about 100 pairs, Acme has gradually grown through investments in technology, design, and manpower to increase production and range of safety shoes products.
Now, Acme manufactures more than 13,000 pairs per day and has created over 1,000 shoe designs. The product development process at Acme involves the amalgamation of the requirements of the work environment along with materials and manufacturing techniques to create safety shoes.
Acme’s journey started in Gwalior, driven by the vision of providing specialized protective footwear to Indian industries where safety awareness was still minimal. We began small, with a single factory producing just 100 pairs of shoes per day.

With an existing production capacity of 40 lakh pairs per year, Acme has developed a massive manufacturing ecosystem that specializes in producing safety footwear. Its manufacturing capacities are based on specialized equipment and integrated automation and manufacturing processes. The firm uses various types of sole constructions, toe protection technology, and materials used for the upper part of the footwear.
ACME’s 2026 range of industrial safety shoes includes composite-toe and steel-toe safety footwear with PU, PU-TPU, PU-Rubber, Nitrile Rubber, and other advanced sole technologies. From sporty safety shoes to industrial footwear and rainwear, ACME products are engineered to meet EN ISO 20345:2022 and applicable Indian safety standards, making ACME a trusted safety shoe brand in India .

Being a partner of the country’s industrial sector, Acme has been developing its product line and production facilities according to changing workplace safety requirements. That is why apart from growing the production capacity, the firm has been developing new machinery and automation processes, materials, and technologies for making safety footwear.
This emphasis is carried throughout further R&D, testing and product development where materials and products are tested by institutions such as FDDI, CLRI and CLI with respect to product development and according to national and international standards.

There is no universal standard of safety in the workplace and there is no universal type of safety shoe for any workplace. Acme designs its safety footwear based on various protection needs, like impact, compression, puncture, heat, abrasion, slip resistant and electrical and static resistance, as applicable to each product line.
For example, the 2026 range includes steel and composite toes, antistatic shoes, water repellent uppers, heat resistant soles, oil, chemical and fuel resistant outsoles, and various cushioning systems. This makes it possible for Acme safety footwear to be designed for the specific working conditions instead of only conforming to a general category specification.

Through the late 1990s and 2000s, Acme’s investments in technology, materials, and skill development helped advance the entire safety footwear category. We upgraded production to leverage automation, introduced new shoe designs incorporating global safety standards, and expanded our facilities and capabilities.
These efforts stimulated market demand while positioning Acme as the go-to brand for industries looking to enhance worker safety and productivity. Today, we manufacture over 13,000 pairs daily across six strategically located factories.

From the installation of its 60 stations PU pouring machine back in 2001 to the Desma machinery, robotics and digitisation, manufacturing technology has played an integral part of the story. Protection & Quality
Safety footwear should perform in the conditions it will be worn in. Therefore, quality control is a key component of every step of the production process. Products certified under IS 15298 and categories in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2022 for the following: toe impact protection, slip-resistance, antistatic, water resistant, perforation/heat resistance depending on the category of the product.
